Welcome to Prince Von Schassburg!
Top Kennel Romania: Rough Collie, Belgian Shepherd - Tervueren.
The first Welsh Corgi Cardigan kennel in Romania!
My name is Jakab Zoltan and I live with my family in the Transylvanian medieval city of Sighisoara and I am the owner of the "Prince of Schassburg" kennel.
I've always been found of animals, especially dogs. Since childhood I've been surrounded by dogs and cats.
In 1992 one of my dreams came true: I managed to buy my favorite dog breed, a tricolor female rough coat collie named Lassie. I bought her from Mr. and Mrs. Iszlai in Tg. Mures, and I am so grateful to them!
In 1994 another dream came true: my daughter Andrea was born. The very moment we brought her home from the maternity, Lassie "adopted" her instantly, never leaving her alone. The years have passed and nothing changed, Andrea made her first steps holding on Lassie, they played and walked together. At night, Lassie used to sleep by or in Andrea's bed.
It was rather difficult to find a Collie puppy in Romania of the 90s, not to mention mating. Therefore, Lassie ended up pairless. It crossed my mind to found a Collie kennel, but because of my job in constructions, running my own company, I was permanently lacking time so I had to postpone it over and over again.
In July 2004 I bought a gold-sable Smooth Collie female puppy and we named her Lady. By that time, this breed was completely unknown in Romania and in Europe there were only 12 breeders! I am proud to say that I owned the first and only piece in Romania. Lady soon became a truly spoiled beast.
The same year a very dramatic event has changed my family's and my own life for ever: the third day after Christmas Lassie passed away in my arms, she wouldn't leave, but eventually life has drained out of her veins, age has caught up on her…
We buried her by the river Tarnava Mare in a glade, under a locust tree. She loved it there, we used to bathe there, camping and pick-nicking.
We still pay visits at the grave, hearts broken, light a candle, we miss her much… Lassie, love, WE'LL NEVER FORGET YOU!
In 2006 we sold the old house in the historical city we've been living in for 40 years and bought a house with yard and garden. The feeling of hollowness left by Lassie's departure still haunts us.
In November, under a spontaneous impulse I jumped into the car and drove up to Mr. Szalczinger's Prince of Sunlight kennel in Hungary and acquired a wonderful gold-sable male Collie puppy: Prince of Sunlight Supernova. We called him simply, Lord.
And this was the beginning…
